Catch artist talks on the hour every hour, or a walking tour of the incredible facilities of DOER Marine. Try your hand at collage, foam relief printing and other family friendly activities!

Restoring Our Atmosphere with Professor Rob Jackson

Join Stanford Professor and climate scientist Rob Jackson as he shares how individual and collective actions can improve our health, combat climate change, and restore the planet’s atmosphere. Chair of the Global Carbon Project, Jackson’s work spans measuring emissions from Amazon wetlands to urban buildings. His acclaimed book, Into the Clear Blue Sky (Penguin Random House), was named one of The Times' “8 Best Science Books of 2024.”

Standford Scholar Emily Polk will interview Jackson about his new book.

Artist Talk with Photographer Noah Berger

Noah Berger is a pulitzer-prize winning photojournalist whose work captures the devastating effects of climate change, particularly through his powerful coverage of California wildfires. His striking images have been featured in The New York Times, National Geographic, and The Washington Post, bringing global attention to the environmental crises shaping our world. Noah will be sharing insights from his years documenting climate change and its impacts!

Artist Talk with Photographer Barbara Boissevain

Barbara Boissevain is a California based, renowned visual artist whose project Salt of the Earth documents the striking beauty and environmental changes of salt ponds along the San Francisco Bay. Through vibrant aerial, ground level and macro/underwater perspectives, she highlights the intersection of industry, ecology, and climate change, inviting viewers to consider the human impact on natural landscapes and in return, how nature regenerates and reclaims those altered landscapes. Barbara will be presenting her work and sharing the stories behind her captivating images—don’t miss this opportunity to explore her powerful perspective!

Capture the Fest with Maurice Ramirez

Join local photojournalist Maurice Ramirez as he shares expert tips on capturing the spirit of an event! Learn how to frame dynamic shots, anticipate key moments, and tell a compelling story through your photos. Maurice will also share advice on working with natural light, adjusting settings on the fly, and engaging with subjects to create authentic images. Meet at the Speakers Corner at 12 PM sharp!

Alameda Point Photo Walk with East Bay Photo Collective

Join the East Bay Photo Collective (EBPCO) for a special photo walk exploring the unique landscapes of Alameda Point. Bring your camera and meet at the Info Booth at 4:30 for this guided 60-minute activity. Afterwards, gather at Almanac Brewing to share images and stories. Selected photographs from participants will be featured in the EBPCO online gallery. All cameras and experience levels welcome!

DOER Marine Tours with President Liz Taylor

Head back stage at the DOER Marine Shop and learn about their innovative technology, marine research and inspiring collaborative projects. Meet at the Info Booth at 1:45 PM or 3:45 PM to walk over to the DOER Marine Shop with the tour group. Tour is limited to 15 people, so please reserve your ticket through Eventbrite prior to the festival.

Climate Collages with Eve and Logan DeLey

Explore a hands-on collage activity with prompts to reflect on what you want to protect from climate change. Play with 3D found object collages and 2D paper scraps -- fun for all ages!

Future Visions Foam Relief Printing with the Odds and Ends Project

Create foam relief prints from recycled materials about your visions of a climate positive future. Your print will join others on a large scale communal printed quilt.

Meet the BAPC Artists at the Bay Area Photographers Collective Container

Join the artists of the Bay Area Photographers Collective to learn more about Ephemeral Earth, curated for In Plain Site. Participating artists include Maria Budner, Allyson Ely, Timofey Glinin, Anastasia Shubina, Shelley Hodes, Anastasiia Nelen, Eric Blum, Neo Serafimidis, Chis Stevens-Yu, Cindy Stokes, Ari Salomon, Alison Taggart-Barone, and Nick Winkworth.

Alameda arts nonprofits Radium Presents and West End Arts District invite celebrated NYC curators Photoville to sprinkle a little of their Brooklyn magic on the shores of Alameda.

Photoville is a New York-based non-profit organization that works to promote a wider understanding and increased access to the art of photography for all. Founded in 2011 in Brooklyn, Photoville produces an annual, city-wide open air photography festival in New York City, a wide range of free educational community initiatives, and a nationwide program of public art exhibitions.
